Zebulon Turrentine

Zebulon Turrentine is an exceptional classical guitar luthier from Cookeville, Tennessee.  He is the son of a timber-framer, and this gave him the opportunity to have hands on experience with woodworking at a very early age.  Zebulon is also a player, and he received his Bachelor's in guitar performance from the Shenandoah Conservatory under the instruction of Glenn Caluda.  His guitar building career started when he took a job with Gallager Guitar Co. (Builders of fine steel string guitars).  Zebulon now builds guitars in his very own workshop where he lives out his life's passion.

I first met Zebulon at the 2013 GFA Convention, and I was so intrigued by the beautiful craftsmanship and sound of his guitar, that I wanted to add his instruments to my inventory.  His guitars project very well while maintaining the delicate tone that one would expect from a hand-made instrument.  Zebulon uses his own modern lattice bracing system for his sound boards, and his fret boards have a slight radius to facilitate playability.  One of the most eye catching aspects of his guitar is his use of purpleheart wood for the rosette, armrest, tie block, and binding thus coining his guitar as "The Purple Heart Guitar."
